Based on the BBC radio programme ‘Desert Island Discs’, we’ve adapted this idea to ask castaways to list up to eight books, one song and one luxury item that they couldn’t do without on a desert island.
The rules are fairly simple, any type of book can be selected, but we ask that at least half are lesfic. Choices should be justified in a paragraph or two. Any type of music is allowed. The luxury item must be inanimate and of no use in escaping the island or allowing communication from outside.

My book choices
‘Temptation‘ by Kris Bryant
As a lover of a good erotic romance, this one hit all the right spots. Likeable characters, some not so likable, and a grandmother everyone wishes they had. The chemistry’s great but not rushed. In short, this is an all-round great story.
‘Hearts Surrender‘ by Emma Weimann
This book has two very different characters, one a wealthy business woman raising two kids, the other a home handywoman. The complexity of their characters wooed me.
‘American Yakuza‘ by Isabella
Who doesn’t like a kickass heroine? The action packed plot pulled me in right from the get-go. There’s a good balance between thrills and romance. I eagerly read the next two books in the series and was just as impressed.
‘Beneath the Surface‘ (Pink Bean #2) by Harper Bliss
This book resonated with me on a personal level. It explores the effects an addiction has not only on the addict but also on their loved ones. This is a unique story that spans twenty years.
‘Beyond the Break‘ by Kristen Mae
This book is like nothing I’ve ever read before. It ripped my heart out and stamped all over it, and I loved every emotional minute of it, even when I cried like a baby. A book has to be powerfully told to move me to tears.
‘Strawberry Summer‘ by Melissa Brayden
Brayden is my go to author when I need a pick me up, and this book didn’t disappoint. The romance and love story are off the charts.
‘Tilting at Windmills‘ by Geonn Cannon
This is book one in a series, and I’ve consumed them all. Claire Lance is my book wife. I’ll leave it at that.
‘Breath of Scandal‘ by Sandra Brown
(M/F, Romantic Suspense)
I very rarely reread books, there are too many new ones coming out I want to devour, but I’ve read this book numerous times. Jade Sperry is a heroine in every sense of the word. Watching her get victory over the thugs who sexually abused her as a teen was awe inspiring. She didn’t sink to their level, no siree, she used her smarts. Brilliant.
My song choice
My one song would be To Love Somebody by the Bee Gees. It’s a song I used to sing along to with someone very dear to me. She is no longer with us. RIP, Melissa.

My inanimate object choice
For my luxury item I would pick a laptop with an endless power supply. No internet, just Microsoft word. I would use the backdrop of the island to create a romantic story.
