Review of ‘Wild bells’ by Elna Holst
This is a short lesbian holiday season story and my first from this author.
The story is told from the POV of Mia Andersson, the gorgeous so-called ‘dykemaker’. I must say I couldn’t get warm with her character. She’s been a player for the last ten years and never one to shy away from a beautiful woman and never at the loss of words. But now she’s confronted with a woman she would never really have seen if there hasn’t been an accidentally wet meeting with a glass full of beer. I liked the other main character Sandra, she is a brave woman, who has to stand her ground in different ways than Mia. But unexpectedly, there is something about Sandra that draws Mia to her.
There is some funny banter between the two of them and also between Mia and her best friend. But I never felt the chemistry between the MCs, it wasn’t really tangible for me. What I liked was, that Mia got challenged by Sandra and she experiences for the first time that she’s running from a woman and she didn’t have a clue how to react.
It’s a funny short story, but unfortunately not made for me. My rating 3.5 stars
