A very good mystery with a romance on the side
This is the first book I’ve read by this author and won’t be my last one. It got my attention from the start and the twists and turns made me keep listening.
When Elliott Snowmaker – an unemployed pilot living in Canada – inherits a failing aircraft restoration business in New Mexico, she packs her things up and goes there. But she wasn’t expecting to be pressured to sell her uncle’s estate to the point of being threatened and in the process, receiving the help of a very attractive lawyer.
Illusion Lake is a very good mystery with a romance on the side. It’s cleverly written and keeps the reader guessing until the end. Both main characters are likeable and have great chemistry together.
Melissa Moran is a seasoned narrator who does a very good job with this story. Her voices are distinct, the pacing perfect and the performance of the different emotions is spot on.
Highly recommended if you are looking for an intrigue/mystery with a side of romance. 4.5 stars.
