Food plays a crucial part in lesfic and literature in general. Books and food are closely intertwined in lesfic as they are in life: food is not only our means of survival, it’s our way of socialising, bonding, expressing feelings and seeking pleasure. No wonder there are so many culinary references in literature. Lesfic is not the exception, as there are a range of books fully or partially dedicated to food. Two worth mentioning are the compilation of short stories edited by R.G. Emanuelle and Andi Marquette, which are arranged by Appetizers, Entrées and Desserts in order of “heat level”. Each story explores food and relationships, followed by a real or playful recipe.
