An entertaining story with a very good narration
This is the second book I read by this author, the first one was Home Field Advantage, a YA sports book. This novel is older (2016) but the audiobook version has just been released so I decided to give it a go.
Out on Good Behavior is book 3 of the Radleigh University Series by this author, the previous two books are m/f romances so I haven’t read them but both sets of main characters make an appearance in this installment. It’s a New Adult romance set in a university in upstate New York.
Frankie Bellisario is a bit of a player who is used to get anyone she sets her sights on. She’s got a crush on Samara Kazarian, the daughter of a southern Republican senatorial candidate. Samara is her best friend’s roommate who asked Frankie to stay away but when Samara shows interest, Frankie decides to try monogamy and remain abstinent for 30 days. Easier said than done…
This was an overall entertaining story though it didn’t blow my mind. Maybe it was because I thought the plot was going in a direction and it didn’t. I think my enjoyment grew because I listened to the audiobook narrated outstandingly by Samantha Summers. Her light overall tone suited the new adult story perfectly, her voices were distinct and the performance of emotions was spot on.
If you are looking for college drama and new adults finding their way in life and love, this one might be for you. 3.5 stars rounded up to 4.
