I’ve read other books by AJ Quinn and for me this author is a hit and miss. Overall, I found this book a bit unrealistic, I don’t want to enter in details but some scenes were hard to believe and that put me off. The main protagonist, Kellen, is a larger than life character who for me wasn’t believable. There is also a lot of description of what characters feel that interfered with the flow of the book. These descriptions seemed to focus in Kellen’s past more than on the development of the story, stealing part of the suspense from it.
There are some disturbing scenes in this book, however short, that might affect the sensibilities of some readers. I think the author or the publisher should give a word of warning just in case. 3 stars.
I received this book for free from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
