A city girl in cowgirl land, a fun ride to happiness
I love the stories T.B. Markinson and Miranda MacLeod create for us, funny and heartwarming tales with imperfect women you want at least to be friends with, if not more.
Drew loves nothing but her family and their ranch somewhere in Wyoming. She works hard and rarely enjoys herself, not even when she participates in a rodeo competition. She just wants to win the prize money to save the ranch. But sometimes things don’t go according to plan. The unexpected surprise of the day is Maisie.
Maisie is attending a convention in Las Vegas with two work colleagues and figures a little fun is in order while she’s there. It’s not the casinos that catch her interest but a big strong cowgirl who steals the show and attracts Maisie like a moth to a flame.
We all know the saying: what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. But sometimes the adventures in Vegas come back and bite you. This is exactly what happened with marketing assistant Maisie and rancher Drew Campbell after the two had spent some pretty hot hours together and now neither of them can remember any of it. Maisie only knows that Drew left her in the hotel room without a goodbye. But months after their encounter, they will discover that what happened in Vegas has followed them home.
Will City Girl Maisie survive an unexpected stay at the ranch in (almost) no man’s land in Wyoming? Or might she even fall in love with Drew’s world? To find out you must read the book and you will not regret it.
In T.B.’s and Miranda’s stories you will always find situations that might happen to you. You can laugh with the characters, cry with them and cheer for them to do the right thing. Both main characters are excellently fleshed-out and although they seem so different at first glance, they fit together better and better the longer the dance goes on. The stubborn rancher, who is averse to change and can probably handle animals better than people, and the sometimes insecure marketing assistant, who is better than she thinks she is, slowly grow into an unbeatable team. But before they can enjoy their happy ending, they have to go through a tough rodeo.
A story for a few hours of fun, rolling eyes, cheering, and laughing. 4.5??
