Lesbian erotica anthologies aren’t really my favorite type of novels to read

Review of ‘Silk and Leather: Lesbian Erotica with an Edge’ by Victoria Villasenor (Editor)

Any time I pick up an anthology, especially an erotic one, I’m not really expecting to love all the stories in the book. There’s always a few that shine and a few duds, and this collection is no exception. My favorite part about anthologies though is discovering new authors who may have been overlooked otherwise.

If I’m being honest though, lesbian erotica anthologies aren’t really my favorite type of novels to read for the most part. You can’t really read them straight through, and the truly erotic stories always tend to lack the emotional connection because it’s just not possible in a short story. Even with that said, this was a nice collection for the most part. A few of the stories were fantastic! Super sexy, incredibly steamy, and definitely the type of short that you wouldn’t want to read in public!

Bottom line – if you’re looking for a collection that themes on the edgier side, with BDSM, swinging, breath play, poly, voyeurism, and more, then you’re bound to find something in this collection that appeals to you. Yes, you’ll have to wade through a few other stories that are a bit cheesy, but with 18 shorts to choose from, there’s something for everyone. My personal favorite, ‘The Key to Happiness’ by Jeannie Levig. Overall, this one came in at a 3.5 stars for me.

**Many thanks to Bold Strokes for providing me with an ARC in exchange for my honest review.**
