Review of ‘Just my type’ by Lucy Bexley & Bryce Oakley
This was cute, funny, and even better than I expected lesbian vampire book. While I have wanted to read Oakley for a while now, this is my first by Oakley or Bexley. This was so good that I will have to read more stories by them. This was a great little novella and a perfect Halloween read for people who want something non-scary.
The romance is super sweet and the book is also funny. I was surprised at how good the humor was. Even if I wasn’t always laughing out loud, I still had this big smile on my face. The romance is between a vampire and a blood researcher scientist. They are kind of the perfect pair when you think about it.
What made the book so funny was the vamp character being very old school and not understanding pop culture or even behavioral norms for this century. The scenes with the vampire and her new pet dog are super clever and funny. Some of the lines I just loved. I don’t know how the authors split up the work, if they each did a character or what, but both mains were great and the transitions seamless so it felt like one author.
If you want a quick read that is cute, funny and has a little steam, this novella is for you. I always talk about having bad luck on Kindle Unlimited but this was a little gem. I absolutely recommend this one. 4.25 Stars.
